New Kasabian EP is bang on

COMMENT ON THIS STORY
KASABIAN have capped an epic summer by announcing a surprise new EP — and the title track Fast Fuse has blown me away.
The Leicester lads have been at the top of the summer festival circuit over the past few weeks — including a gig in Ibiza on Monday night that shook the party island to its core.
And as if that wasn’t enough, guitarist SERGE PIZZORNO has spent his few spare hours writing a belter of a track.
Oh, and he produced it himself as well.
I had the first listen to Fast Fuse yesterday and it is straight out of the rock and roll top drawer.
Think Club Foot, but bigger. Pure, thumping guitar magic that shows they are the best band on the scene.
Serge said: “We are really excited about these new tracks — it’s a totally new sound and direction for us.
“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the end of the summer festivals than getting this EP out there for the fans.â€
Out on September 3 as a limited edition 10in, if you don’t get it in your record collection, you’ll regret it.
Kasabian are truly on the march to greatness.
Kasabian to surprise fans with brand new EP this summer
Band plan one-off release

Kasabian are set to release a one-off EP later this summer after writing loads of new songs in their time off.
Although the band don't plan to start working on their third album until the winter, the group will put out the 'Fast Fuse' EP on September 3 on a limited edition 10-inch, after they coming up with a handful of new songs at home.
"This was done in my house in a little room downstairs," explained guitarist and main songwriter Serge Pizzorno. "Just in front of a computer, I produced it all myself."
The group said they decided to release the songs as they were desperate to get something out to the fans who have been supporting them at festivals all summer.
"Because we're just doing all these festivals we thought 'Why don't we just put one out and crack on'," said Pizzorno.
He added: "I'm in a really, really rich vein of form as far as songwriting goes. I'm in a really good patch where everyday something happens. There was no point in saving it you know, because we've got equally good songs for the album. So this marks this summer and what we're doing at the moment.
"I think the fans who first got into us, they'll really appreciate it, they'll feel we've not disappeared into fucking arenas and all that. It's like, 'There's a bit more music for you for people to enjoy'."
