Nuovo album dei Bloc Party, cresce il numero delle canzoni confermate

Kele Okereke, il frontman dei Bloc Party, ha rivelato i titoli di varie canzoni che saranno pubblicate sul secondo album della band, il successore dell'acclamato "Silent alarm". Questi i pezzi:
"Waiting for the 7.18"
"Uniform"
"Perfect teens" (precedentemente conosciuto come "Machine")
"England" (ex "Blue Moon")
"Song for Clay" (ex "Merge on the freeway").
La formazione britannica ha anche registrato "Cells shaped like stars" e "Kreuzberg", che però potrebbero non finire sul CD. I testi verteranno essenzialmente sulla vita metropolitana.

Bloc Party release their second full-length album A Weekend In The City - 5th February 2007 through Wichita Recordings. Produced by Jacknife Lee and recorded at Grouse Lodge Studios in Ireland. Bloc Party\'s newest collection of songs is a stunning, intense and brilliant follow-up to their celebrated debut Silent Alarm. The album will be preceded by the single The Prayer, released 29th January 2007.

Upon release of Silent Alarm in February 2005, Bloc Party were catapulted into the global spotlight, gathering worldwide fans and critical acclaim, with the NME voting Silent Alarm "Album of the Year". They have gone on to sell over a million copies of the album worldwide.

A Weekend in The City is inspired by lead singer Kele Okereke\'s interest in what he calls "the living noise of a metropolis." On Weekend, the band captures every detail from ebullient to the mundane - of daily life in a modern city, and the quiet desolation that suffuses everything from commuting to casual sex, from going out on a Friday night to the long ride home in the early hours of the morning. These are songs desperate to understand the meaning that pulses under the moments of our everyday: there are bursting with tension, paranoia, sadness, love and an intense need for reason as to how city life has become so displacing.

Bloc Party will be touring America throughout autumn. They return to tour the UK in January 2007, their first UK Tour since October 2005.

Si terrà il 13 maggio all'Alcatraz di Milano l'unico concerto italiano del tour seguente alla pubblicazione di 'Weekend In The City', nuovo album dei Bloc Party.

I biglietti, in vendita da sabato 2 dicembre, costano 22 euro più diritti di prevendita. Saranno disponibili in tutte le prevendite abituali.

'Weekend In The City', seconda fatica dei Bloc Party, sarà pubblicato il 2 febbraio 2007, preceduto di una settimana dal nuovo singolo 'The Prayer'.

Bloc Party dal vivo in Italia, le date

I Bloc Party, poco dopo avere confermato la data di pubblicazione del loro secondo album -"A weekend in the city" uscirà il prossimo 5 febbraio-, hanno reso note tutte le date del tour che stanno per intraprendere per promuovere il disco. Il quartetto londinese partirà il 25 gennaio dalla propria città, dove peraltro tornerà il 31 gennaio e nei giorni 1 e 2 febbraio, e sarà impegnato tra Gran Bretagna ed Irlanda sino al 22 febbraio; dopo due settimane di riposo, Kele Okereke e soci sbarcheranno in Giappone il 4 marzo. Il tour si concluderà proprio in Italia: il 12 maggio all'Estragon di Bologna ed il giorno successivo all'Alcatraz di Milano.
