Babyshambles plan special gig to launch new gear
Pete Doherty has inspired a fashion line by Manchester clothes label Gio-Goi.

The Babyshambles frontman is set to launch the label's Rock'N'Roll spring/summer 07 collection at a secret gig in London next month.

Speaking about his link up with the label, Doherty said: "Gio-Goi are on the fashionista manor. They've tumbled their gain; I love the clothes!"

The singer follows the likes of Mike Skinner and Arctic Monkeys, who have also warn the range, while in the past Oasis, Happy Mondays, New Order and Primal Scream have all sported Gio-Goi clothing.

The collection, inspired by Doherty, will be available at London's Selfridges store from December 7 before going nationwide in January 2007.

Pete Doherty, star maledetta dell'ultima generazione della musica pop britannica e fidanzato della supermodella Kate Moss, ha stretto un accordo con la casa di moda di Manchester Gio-Goi per collaborare con la firma a disegnare la una collezione di abiti.


L'accordo, annunciato oggi, arriva pochi giorni dopo la conclusione di un contratto firmato dalla Moss per disegnare un'altra collezione di abiti per la catena britannica di negozi Topshop.


Il 27enne leader dei Babyshambles, che da anni lotta contro un problema di tossicodipendenza e ha più volte avuto dei problemi con la legge, vestirà gli abiti da lui stesso disegnati ad un concerto che si terrà in un luogo ancora segreto a Londra prima di Natale.


Gio-Goi, che da sempre veste star della musica come gli Streets, gli Arctic Monkeys e i Paddingtons, ha detto in un comunicato che Doherty è l'ispirazione dietro la sua collezione primavera/estate 2007.


"Peter è un modello fantastico", ha detto a Reuters uno dei fondatori di Gio-Goi, Anthony Donnelly. "Siamo molto contenti ... e non vediamo l'ora di portare l'influenza di un'icona del rock come Peter nelle nostre creazioni".


Il marchio Gio-Goi, rilanciato nel 2005, è stata un'etichetta famosa negli ambienti musicali degli anni 1990, quando ha vestito i Rolling Stones, gli Happy Mondays, gli Oasis, i New Order e i Primal Scream.

Pete Doherty fined for assault
The singer apologises for attacking a reporter
Pete Doherty has landed a £750 fine for assaulting a reporter.

The Babyshambles singer was ordered to pay the fine at Thames Magistrates Court after kicking a microphone out of Radio 1 Newsbeat's Trudi Barber's hand outside the same court in March.

The singer had initially pleaded not guilty to the charge, but later changed his plea after seeing TV footage of the incident.

Doherty said in a statement: "If I hurt this lady I'm sorry," but he added that the reporter was a member of the "harrassing scum of press".

Summing up, magistrate Helen Skinner said: "Referring to the press as scum does no one any favours. You were obviously courting publicity judging by your somewhat extravagant behaviour outside the court.

"People in public life have a responsibility to behave and be a good role model to others."

Doherty has been ordered to pay £250 in compensation and another £200 in court costs, reports BBC News.
