They come from Staines and are predicted to be massive - Hard-Fi are one of the brightest names to emerge in 2005. Comprising band members Richard Archer (vocals, main songwriter), Ross Phillips (guitars, backing vocals), Kai Stephens (bass) and Steve Kemp (drums), Hard-Fi formed in 2002 and following gigs in their local area, the band were snapped up by Atlantic Records.
Their debut album, Stars of CCTV was recorded in a variety of unusual venues, from a cab office to cars, and was released in July 2005; it reached UK No. 6. The band have so far released four singles from it - Cash Machine (which failed to chart on its original release but made No. 14 in Dec, plus Tied Up Too Tight (No. 15 in April), Hard to Beat ( No. 9 in July) and Living For The Weekend (No. 15 in October). As well as their own sold out gigs, Hard-Fi supported Green Day at their two massive Milton Keynes shows last sumer
