Coldplay and Gorillaz have both helped boost profits at music giant EMI over the past year.
Chris Martin and co.’s album ‘X & Y’ shifted an incredible 7.5million units in the six months up to September 30, while Gorillaz sold 3.4million.
Pre-tax profits went up 9% to £41million in that period, while overall revenue rose to £924.6million.
The company has also been helped along by Robbie Williams’ latest album ‘Intensive Care’ which has sold a staggering 3.5million copies in just the past few weeks.
Unsurprisingly, the company said they are well on course to achieve their end of year targets.
