Alright, this is the third time I've seen Oasis on this tour, and all I can say is Red Rocks was incredible. It's my home venue since I live in downtown Denver, and it was absolutely breath taking. First of all, Red Rocks was either sold out or very near capacity. The crowd was easily 10 times what the crowd was at the House of Blues in Vegas last Thursday (which was also a phenomenal show, of course)! And Red Rocks is just amazing. So, what made this show so special? Check this out...

The brothers Gallagher were having sooooo much fun up there. The uniqueness of Red Rocks and the giant "red rocks" that surround the entire venue had them thrilled. They both spoke with the crowd. A lot. Much more than usual. Liam even gave out 4 (yes, four!!!) tambourines. During "My Generation" Liam even invited audience members on stage to rock out with the band. How unheard of is that?! So anyway, before Acquiesce, Liam says, "this song is dedicated to that F***ing rock and that rock right there." As he points at the giant rock walls on either side of the venue. Noel introduced "The Importance of Being Idle" as the "Last best song I've ever written." It was hilarious. Liam of course dedicated "Live Forever" to New Orleans (he's been doing this every show since Katrina), and then before "Mucky Fingers" Noel apparently went nuts. He says to the crowd, "Who lives here at Red Rocks, aye? Who f***in' lives here? Anyone live at Red Rocks? Who lives at Tiny Town? Anyone from Tiny Town? Somebody's gotta live there. It's probably full of all these short littl' people, innit it? This next song is dedicated to the midgets from Tiny Town." Finally, before, "Don't Look Back in Anger" Noel says, "I haven't sang the first chorus to this song in over 5 years, so you cowboys better not mess it up." Then during the song right before the chorus, Noel says, "alright, sing it cowboys!" and the crowd belted out the chorus. It was perfect. They were having so much fun from the great audience and venue.

The most touching moment of the evening, however, and the proof that the Gallaghers were really truly loving the evening and the crowd was during "Don't Look Back in Anger." During the final, solo, 'don't look back in anger, don't look back in anger...I heard ya say...least not today' Noel paused before "least not today" and actually looked over at Liam and said, "Happy birthday Liam." It was the most brotherly thing I've ever seen them do in public. Noel meant it, and he was sincere. So then before "My Generation," Liam comes back on stage and said something like, "What the f*** are you doin'? You must be knackered to say somethin' like that in public, aye? True thanks though, mate." It was awesome! Then they rocked "My Generation" it was great.

Oh yeah, and not to brag or anything, but I actually actually really did meet Oasis tonight. Everyone except Gem and Andy. See, Red Rocks has a sound booth right in the center around rows 10-15, and I was right next to the sound booth. There is an underground tunnel that goes from the sound booth to the stage, and during Jet and Kasabian's sets, first Jay came out, I told him he rocked in Vegas and he said thanks and shook my hand. Next Noel came out, but I missed him the first time because he ducked back into the tunnel before I could say anything. Luckily he came back out with Liam to watch Jet a little and I was able to get both of their attentions and I shook both their hands and Liam gave me a thumbs up!! Finally, Zak came out to watch jet and was equally nice and shook my hand, it rocked. I've been waiting a decade for my dream concert of Oasis and Red Rocks, and a dream concert it was. Brilliant.

#### helll, I just got back from that concert and I am buzzing as well.
I've seen Oasis 3 times before, the last time i saw them was in
Milton Keynes a few months ago, but this Red Rcoks show was BY FAR
the best concert I have been to in my whole #### life... im not going
to be able to sleep tonight cause i'm still that excited, and i have a class
at 8 AM .. ha.. anyways, i could hardly understand anything liam and noel
were saying, they talked ALOT and the whole band were in a GREAT mood,
ive never seen Liam so animated ever, he was dancing around so much..
my favorite was when noel dedicated a song to "ALL U #### COWBOYS"
and also some people in the front of the crowd had a big sign saying "Happy birthday Liam" ... liam dedicated Wonderwall to "All the beautiful ladies i'm seeing here, and he pointed at some girls in the crowd i think... let me tell you this venue was PACKED with nice lookin ladies..

Anyways, im back in Boulder now and hopefully someone will have some pics of this show.

Mi fa piacere che stiano trovando successo! Avevo un po' paura di questo tour, perchè ultimamente non avevano riscosso grande successo! Fortunatamente nei gigs si stanno comprtando bene!

Some singers try to be cool; Liam Gallagher doesn't do trying; he just is. If John Lennon were still alive, he'd want to be Liam Gallagher.

With a wellspring of talent, Oasis proves it hasn't dried up

By Steve Knopper, Special to the News
September 21, 2005

Astoundingly, to anyone familiar with Oasis' history of public infighting, canceled tours and ugly breakups, the British quintet arrived on stage two minutes ahead of schedule. This turned out to be the best kind of foreshadowing.

An animated Liam Gallagher was in fine, gravelly voice, guitarist Noel Gallagher held down the songs so his brother couldn't spin out of control, and a new three-man rhythm section provided power and precision.

Liam wrecked only one song, the band's smash 1994 ballad Live Forever, on which he sang almost defiantly out of key, but unexpected delights such as the new Lyla and Mucky Fingers more than made up for it.

Both songs are from Don't Believe the Truth, Oasis' comeback album from earlier this year; the latter is a blatant Velvet Underground rip-off, with all the fast-and-loud rock 'n' roll stomping that implies, and the former is a ballad with a superb chorus that sticks in your head hours after you hear it.

Oasis almost didn't make it to this point. In the mid-'90s, the one-eyebrow Gallagher brothers, inspired by the Beatles, Kinks and Who songs of their youth, churned out Britpop hits with pretty choruses and the overamplified electric guitars of the grunge era. Their savage feuding made international gossip columns and they called off a 1996 U.S. tour. Eventually, they split up, had kids, put out a stinky album and came back with Don't Believe the Truth, a well-written but muted CD that sounds much better live.

At Red Rocks, they opened with two new songs - Turn Up the Sun and Lyla - that established the formula Oasis would use the next hour and a half. Liam Gallagher occupied center stage in a long, dark-green overcoat in the style of '60s British "mods." Noel Gallagher, in a light-red polo shirt, cranked up the volume so that even his ballads and lightweight pop songs sounded like strident anthems.

And new drummer Zak Starkey, son of the Beatles' Ringo Starr and veteran of several recent Who tours, provided the thudding bottom and controlled chaos whenever the songs became a little too predictable.

Although they seemed to lose interest just before the encore, Oasis put on a string of seven or eight truly great rock 'n' roll performances - Bring It On Down; (What's the Story) Morning Glory; Cigarettes and Alcohol; The Importance of Being Idle; and A Bell Will Ring.

They cribbed unashamedly from British rock greats, borrowing the rhythm of Cigarettes from T. Rex's Get It On (Bang a Gong) and the cadence of Lyla from the Rolling Stones' Street Fighting Man.

But the band has a knack for transcending plagiarism. They closed with a version of My Generation that was more explosive than anything The Who has done in years
