Hi all, just got back from the Oasis gig at the Shoreline Ampitheatre and they blew the place apart.
I was really surprised at Kasabian cause this was the first time I saw them live and boy do they rock!! They played a little over 35 minutes and almost covered their album. They seemed real excited that the fans knew their songs. At this time the sun was still up and most of the crowd still up and walking about.
When JET came on, the crowd seemed to grow but only by a little bit. They seemed a bit off on some of their songs. The bass guitar was almost non-existent on some songs and the drums were a bit too loud. Overall I enjoyed them but for the most part they werent as sharp as Kasabian was.
The crowd filled in once Oasis was getting set to go on. They were all in top form. Liam's voice was sharp as a pin and during Champagne Supernova he had to complain to the sound guys regarding his monitors. Besides that, Liam was in a great mood walking over to the crowd to shake hands while Noel played solos. Noel too was in a great mood, thanking the crowd at almost every song he sang. During Mucky Fingers the crowd was singing along and Noel seemed surprised. Zak's drumming was off the charts, truly amazing and he just fits in so well. Gem was great as always specially with his part in Mucky Fingers. Andy Bell and Gem were laughing along with Zak in between songs and the boys just seem to be having a great old time.
The setlist was the usual for this tour, Turn Up the Sun, Lyla, Bring it on Down, etc.. The Encore being Guess God thinks I'm Abel, Meaning of Soul, Don't look Back In Anger and the totally mind blowing My Generation.
