ecco che dice l'EVENING TIME
THOUSANDS of rock fans gave the Hampden roar last night as Oasis swaggered onto the stage for the opening gig of their UK and Ireland tour.
Despite initial poor quality sound, the four-piece band rocked the crowd with favourites What's The Story Morning Glory, Cigarettes and Alcohol, and Little By Little.
They slipped in just a couple of tracks from the latest hit album Don't Believe the Truth, including their seventh UK number one single, Lyla, and their forthcoming release The Importance of Being Idle.
The Gallagher brothers teased the rowdy mob with Live Forever and Champagne Supernova, before Rock and Roll Star worked fans in a frenzy.
Wonderwall was dedicated to the ladies in the audience - most likely meant for frontman Liam Gallagher's fiancee, ex-All Saint Nicole Appleton, who was sitting adoringly at the side of the stage with their son, Gene.
Firm favourite Don't Look Back In Anger stole the show and Liam let the crowd show their singing skills.
The band finished with an excellent cover of The Who's My Generation as Liam shook hands with fans in the front row, who had been at the stadium since the 3pm opening.
He wound up the night in true Oasis style by hurling his tambourine into the multitude of worshipping fans.

Some singers try to be cool; Liam Gallagher doesn't do trying; he just is. If John Lennon were still alive, he'd want to be Liam Gallagher.
