recensioni e commenti di fan

They show was good from the opening act by Jet, to the closing moments of Oasis performing My Generation.

Jet were awesome! They really know how to rock the crowd.

Honestly, Jet are better live performers than Oasis are.

Anyways, at 9:30 p.m. Oasis took the stage to the uproar of the crowd with F**kin' In The Bushes. Turn Up The Sun came next. It sounds as powerful as it does on record. Next was Lyla, a song I found to have had a good reception from the audience. I heard the audience shout out "Hey Lyla!" everytime the chorus part came on. After that, the band performed Bring It On Down, a so-so performance. I really saw no need for that song to be performed, they could have done Supersonic instead, which was totally ignored tonight. Love Like A Bomb came up next, a remarkable moment for the evening. Then, in no particular order, came The Importance Of Being Idle, The Meaning Of Soul, Live Forever, Champagne Supernova (highlight), Little By Little, Mucky Fingers (with Gem on harmonica), Cigarettes & Alcohol, Rock n Roll Star, Morning Glory.
For the encore, the band performed Songbird, Wonderwall, Don't Look Back In Anger, and My Generation.

The show ended at around 11:30 p.m.

Comments:

Zak Starkey is the best thing that has happened for Oasis since What's The Story Morning Glory. The guy can drum like a legend. Besides being the son of a Beatle, Ringo Starr, Zak has extraordinary energy. The moments he shined on was the closing of Rock 'n Roll Star, where he pounded the drums at different speeds from one side to another. Quite breathtaking!

There were times when I couldn't hear Noel's singing, especially on Little By Little and The Importance Of Being Idle. They should either jack up the volume on the mic or have Noel sing louder.

Liam was onstage all evening except for the songs that were sung by Noel, so he did well!

The venue was packed from the lower part of the pavillion all the way up to the top of the lawn. Oasis fans are alive!

Just back from the Detroit show. This was my third Oasis show and by far the best.

I'm a Jet fan so of course I thought they were great.

Had lawn seats but I was able to sneak into the pavallion and had great seats. Like everyone's said, same set as the Toronto gig.

Couple of notes:

*Liam had a tshirt on that I believe said "YOU ARE WEIRD" (not 100% sure since he had a jacket on overneath the shirt).

*During Live Forever, Liam slowly side-straddled towards Noel while he was playing the guitar solo and snuck up from behind him and put his arm around him and raised his other arm to get the crowd to cheer for his brother. That was the coolest moment of any Oasis show I've ever seen.

*Before going into The Importance of Being Idle, Noel said "This next song is Billy Idol's next single actually..."

*Noel teased the beginning of the Rolling Stones' Start Me Up right before playing Rock N' Roll Star.

*When the band came back out of the encore, Gem had changed shirts and Liam said "Do you know Anthrax? The band? Well we're going to play a song by Anthrax." before going into Songbird.

*And like the one guy said, plenty of fights in the crowd and whatnot. But the crowd was way better than 2001 when most of the people were there for the Black Crowes are just there to get stoned.

The show was darn BRILLIANT!!! The Bros and company sounded fantastic and Liam was in rare form seeming really happy and loving the gig. As for the fights, I saw one fight on the way out and that was it, I was in the Pavillian though so who knows, maybe there were some sdcraps in the uncivilized section...j/k. I also didnt hear the Wonderwall chant b/c everyone in my seciton was screaming their darn minds out so I dont know if that happened but I will say that if that was the case, thats darn ridiculous and those people should be shot. The highlight was definately when Liam put his arm around Noel during his guitar solo, especially after hearing that the two werent getting along as of late. Ive seen Oasis many many times and this will rank in my top 5 but I dont think anything will beat the show at The Fox Theatre in Detroit a few years ago.
