Secrets of the new Darkness album.
Justin Hawkins has spilled the beans on the new Darkness album to Radio 1. We spoke to him yesterday at the unveiling of his waxwork at Madame Tussauds.
Justin reckons it should be called 'The Difficult Second Album' but admitted it won't be that hard for him, because whilst he's going on holiday to Dubai, the others will be beavering away in the studio.
Justin also said that after many offers they chose Roy Thomas Baker to produce it, he's worked with Queen, David Bowie, Ozzy Osbourne and The Rolling Stones amongst others.
"We had everyone knocking on our doors, saying 'Ooh, please can I come out of retirement and work with you'. We've chosen him and he's the best."
"I'm having a great time, as far as I'm concerned the difficult second album consists of holidaying whilst everyone else does their parts. Then I turn up, throw some gold at it. Right at the end, the glory run, the last leg of the relay, I'm going to run through the finish line going 'Right, what's next'."
Justin also gave us news on a cracking new single:
"The next 'I Believe in a Thing Called Love' big single is called 'Girlfriend I Love You So Much', which is a super, super smash hit."
"And if it isn't then it's time to call it a day, unfortunately."
