War Child is Go!
(Tuesday August 23, 2005 12:41 AM)
The Go! Team, Kaiser Chiefs, Belle & Sebastian and Damien Rice are the latest names to be confirmed for the forthcoming charity record "Help: A Day In The Life".
All four groups will record brand new tracks for the album, which will be put together on September 8 and be made available as a download within 24 hours.
The project, which will make the LP the quickest ever released, comes a decade after the first "War Child" album.
Gorillaz, Radiohead, Manic Street Preachers, The Magic Numbers, Razorlight, The Coral, Elbow, Maximo Park, Hard-Fi and Keane have already confirmed they'll donate a song.
As in 1995, the artwork for "Help: A Day In The Life" is to be designed by former Stone Roses guitarist John Squire. A physical release of the album will follow the download.
Proceeds from the LP will go towards helping children in war-torn countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Bosnia and The Democratic Republic Of The Bongo.
