The Coldplay singer said: "I hope the Spice Girls are doing Live 8 because they were a phenomenon. They should get back together and do it."
Chris also admitted he enjoyed the Spice Girls film, he added: "I just watched Spice World - its brilliant, really funny."
Other acts due to perform include Robbie Williams, Dido and Joss Stone reports The Sun.
Live 8 will take place on July 2 in London's Hyde Park as well as shows in Philadelphia, Berlin, Rome and Paris.
