IAN BROWN has been arrested in SAN FRANCISCO after an onstage bust-up with a member of the audience, NME.COM can exclusively reveal.

The singer was playing at the Great American Music Hall as part of a North American tour in support of his current album ’Solarized’ when the alleged incident happened.

According to fans at the show, Brown was complaining about the sound quality at the venue, and after three songs got so upset he stopped the song.

One fan claimed: “This guy in a white top jumps onto the stage from the crowd, rugby tackles Ian Brown to the floor. Everything stops and the band members run to the aid of their leader.”

A witness continued: “So this is where we think, ‘Well that’s the show over, $30 wasted’. Then Ian Brown and co come back on the stage after 15 minutes. The show went on. Even though the sound was poor there was no other fights, Ian stopped the band a couple of times during ‘I Wanna Be Adored’ because of the sound and feedback. Then they were gone.”

After the show he was arrested at his hotel and taken for questioning.

However, a spokesperson for the singer told NME.COM that at the time of going to press no charges had been brought against the singer.

L'ex-Stone Roses è stato coinvolto in una rissa durante il suo concerto di martedì 15 Marzo presso il Great American di San Francisco.

La serata, per la quale il pubblico ha sborsato 30 dollari, è stata interrotta dopo soli tre brani a causa di alcuni difetti sonori dell'impianto; durante la breve pausa un astante (nella foto con la camicia bianca) è salito sul palco dalla destra e si è avventato sul cantante gettandolo a terra.

La reazione di autodifesa di Ian è stata immediata, un buttafuori è intervenuto cercando di sedare la zuffa e ha agguantato in malo modo Brown da dietro ma lo ha fatto cadere per terra facendogli sbattere la testa a un monitor, cosa che gli ha procurato una piccola ferita.

In stato confusionale e completamente accecato dalla rabbia, Brown ha cercato di liberarsi della presa del buttafuori azzuffandosi anche con lui.

A quel punto altri fan hanno cercato di salire sul palco per aiutare il loro beniamino, ma la sicurezza si è messa a protezione degli strumenti ‘scoraggiando' fisicamente ogni invasione.

Il concerto è stato sospeso, ma solo per 15 minuti, dopodiché la band è rientrata sul palco e ha concluso il set; tornato in albergo la polizia ha raggiunto Brown e lo ha interrogato sulla vicenda.

Al cantante non sono state comminate sanzioni.

Secondo alcuni fan presenti al concerto, i problemi dell'impianto sono continuati anche dopo la piccola rissa obbligando il gruppo a fermarsi due volte durante l'esecuzione di “I Wanna Be Adored”; il locale era sprovvisto di transenne anti-panico.
