A POLITICAL SHAMBLES
PETE DOHERTY will be speaking at the EUROPEAN SOCIAL FORUM (ESF) next weekend in LONDON.
The estranged Libertines guitarist will appear with Billy Bragg, Martin Smith and Asian Dub Foundation’s Pandit G for the discussion at Point 101, Centrepoint between 3-5pm (October 16).
The artists will be discussing the relationship between protest movements, politics and music, from Leadbelly to Marvin Gaye to the 1970’s 'Rock Against Racism' and 'Love Music Hate Racism' today.

Doherty’s new band Babyshambles will also play the night before (October 15) when they perform as part of a Love Music Hate Racism gig with The Cooper Temple Clause at London’s The Coronet.
The Clash’s Mick Jones will be bringing his new band Carbon/Silicon to the Astoria on the Saturday night (October 16) to continue the European Social Forum programme.
Other acts playing that night include Billy Bragg, Lady Sovereign and Blade.

The European Social Forum is a political and cultural festival which is due to take place between October 14-17 in London’s Alexandra Palace and Bloomsbury.
