Oasis pay tribute to hurricane victims at gig
The band play their biggest Los Angeles show yet
Oasis paid tribute to victims of Hurricane Katrina last night as they played their biggest ever show in Los Angeles (September 12).
The Manchester outfit were performing for the first time at the city’s Hollywood Bowl, when midway into their set, frontman Liam Gallagher paused to pay tribute to one of the locales affected by the tragedy.
"The next one’s for the people in New Orleans ," he said simply before the group launched into 'Live Forever' .
The band played a 90-minute set including the likes of 'Lyla', 'Champagne Supernova', 'Wonderwall', 'Don’t Look Back in Anger' and 'Rock 'N' Roll Star' .
Before the group’s last song – their traditional cover of The Who classic 'My Generation' - guitarist Noel Gallagher took time to recognize Oasis reaching the landmark venue after over a decade of playing live the USA.
"It’s nice to get here after all the years of fucking about in nightclubs," he laughed before dedicating the cover to "people of Mexican origin".

Just back, and wow, what a gig. Had shite seats but I'm not complaining. Support was provided by Kasabian and Jet. Kasabian blew my head off, they are a fucking amazing live band. Although they did dedicate LSF to the England cricket team . Jet, meh, they were OK. Only recognized two of the songs they played. Basically I was just itching for Oasis to come on. And when they did the place went nuts.
They started with two songs off DBTT (Turn Up The Sun and Lyla) both great songs live. Went back to some classics with Bring It On Down, Morning Glory, and Cigarettes & Alcohol (which was dedicated to "That fucking stupid rule that you can't smoke in certain places") Liam took a break while Noel went on with the latest single, The Importance Of Being Idle. He came back for A Bell Will Ring (dedicated to all the deaf people). Was suprised to hear Acquiesce next as they didn't play it at Hampden when I saw them. Great song. Live Forever was dedicated to the hurricane victims. Then Liam went off again for Mucky Fingers. Then when he came back they played two classics, Wonderwall (for the lads) and Champagne Supernova. Crowd of course went nuts for those two. They then delivered a great version of Rock N Roll Star before going off stage for a few minutes. When they came back they played two of Liam's songs, Guess God Thinks I'm Abel and The Meaning Of Soul. Biggest cheer of the night came for Don't Look Back In Anger, and Noel let the crowd sing the chorus. Then they finished off with the classic Who track, My Generation, at the end of which some mad girl ran on stage and was quickly grabbed by security. Liam walked over to her and gave her a hug and she was just going mental.
Overall, a great set, great support, and a great gig. Bring on Vegas on Thursday where hopefully I'll be right up front.

Ma vi viene mai in mente che se certe canzoni non le fanno è perchè non gli vengono bene?

allora
non sold out (No, I heard had 125 more seats been sold it would have been. Still incredible for a band that the majority of the US forgot about 10 years ago dice un fan)
incredibile
c'erano 18.000 persone circa
dalle recensione sembra sia stato spettacolare

per chi non aveva capito la dedica ai messicani
ecco la spiegazione
Highlight Noel dedicating Dont Look Back in Anger to any one from Mexico or of Mexican origin. Im Mexican and that just brought a tear to my eye. It was beutiful. The crowd went wild being that almost half the crowd was Mexican.
Plus the preparty we, the madheads, had was awesome bout 30+ fans boozing, smoking siging along to some Oasis classics before the gig was a perfect way to start it.
