Quality gig tonight. I was about 3 people from the front in the mosh btw Liam and Noel. Liam was unbelievable with his lamb chop sideburns and white jacket with no shirt underneath. Had lots of attitude tonight standing at the edge of the stage and staring at everyone without smiling or moving at the end of most songs after his singing was done. A bit of a let down was that the setlist tonight was exactly like the brisbane one. Its the one thing thats annoying about Oasis. Why dont they change the setlist everynight, like say Pearl Jam. Thats why its not really worth going both nights. Another thing was that down on floor vocals werent very loud and the crowd really took over and you couldnt hear noel or liam much. Especially in The importance of being Idle, singing was so soft in volume. Anyway standout was probably Live Forever, and Morning Glory. Although My Generation went off and was "for all the mods in the crowd". All in all good gig.

It was amazing!

LIam look tops in a white suit jacket, and there was quite a lot interaction from him with the crowd. Noel was being a meaney, with comments about us being crap at the cricket, rugby and probably going to lose the world cup!

Live Forever, Rock and Roll Star were highlights!

will be interesting to see if the setlist is the same for tomorrow nights show

Was awesome!! my first oasis gig and yeah it was great. the checks were crap except for their last song! but oasis went off!!! would have liked them to play 'let there be love' as i was there with an ex i wanted to get back together with , kinda sappy song might have done the trick aye! but yes was still tops!!
HIghlights masterplan - really got the crowd going after a fair amount off new album
champagne supernova - massive singalong, more so than wonderwall which was surprising, wonderwall was a bit flat, not as big as i thought it would be
dont look back in anger - dedicated to our cricket team which noel seemed pleased to do though admitting he dosnt like cricket, but managed to bag the scottish as well haha, but yeah went off

banter was great though andy and gem just kinda stood there all night but i didnt expect them to do much so yeah

UN PESSIMO REVIEW

Hordern Pavilion, November 28.

YOU might think little worse could happen at a gig than the lead singer's microphone failing during the opening song. But Liam Gallagher was on such terrible form on this night that soon after his microphone started working you were praying it would pack up again.

The last time Oasis played their own Sydney show, at the Enmore Theatre in 2002, they seemed a band reborn: full of the swagger that first seduced you in the mid-1990s, offering a set well stocked with their modern rock classics, musically and vocally at the top of their game.

The band still benefits greatly from Gem Archer's solid rhythm guitar and the stoic, towering Andy Bell's thunderous bass, while new drummer Zak Starkey (yes, Ringo Starr's son) has stripped down Alan White's increasingly distracting, elaborate rhythms to a simple, but still meaty, backbone.

No doubt helped by this trio, Noel Gallagher was the star of the night, but even he couldn't save the show from his brother's abysmal performance.

Liam was hoarse and witless between songs and couldn't even be bothered to try to sing many of them properly. He often slurred the lyrics into what sounded like a caricature of his trademark nasal whine and refused to finish many lines, let alone hold many notes.

His boorish dedications - Bring it on Down to the (no-doubt numerous) English backpackers in attendance, Cigarettes and Alcohol to the late alcoholic footballer George Best, A Bell Will Ring to "any deaf people in here tonight" - often made you squirm.

His "mate Sid", meanwhile, to whom he dedicated Live Forever, must be rolling in his grave or wishing he was in one. That might have been the worst performance of a perfect song I've heard, and it was desecrated before my eyes by the very man who sang the definitive version. Soon after, he did something almost identical to an otherwise electric Wonderwall.

Every time Liam left the stage for the Noel-sung songs, things changed conspicuously. Even the odd new track The Importance of Being Idle sounded all right, while the emotive, classic, acoustic guitar-led B-side The Masterplan was glorious. By the time the show peaked with a skyscraping Don't Look Back in Anger, you'd almost forgotten (if not forgiven) Liam's "efforts".

But no, Gallagher jnr lumbered back on one last time (despite one wag's desperate cry behind me of "Let Noel sing it!"), for a cover of the Who's My Generation that made me hope I'd die before I got any older listening to Liam sing it.

Maybe he just had a sore throat, maybe he has totally lost his once-special tones. But if this is what Liam Gallagher on a bad night can do to an Oasis show, it's no wonder he and Noel still fight.

pare che liam all'inizio abbia avuto problemi al microfono e NOEL ha cantato TURN UP THE SUN!!!
