Il review di un FANS
Everyone's a critic...
Well first Kasabian came on and the place wasn't full but for the people that were there it was one hell of a show. Let me tell you I wasn't really impressed with their album, I mean it's ok but it reminds me of A Storm in Heaven. Like it should be more crisp or something. But after hearing them live it makes the album better. There was one guy during the show that was holding up his union jack flag, and the lead singer of Kasabian points at him and says "I see that flag" you should have seen the guys face. He made that guys night! Kasabian were so loud too. Most opening bands I've seen at ampitheatre shows don't usually have the sound right. But they rocked and I enjoyed it.
Next was Jet...
They tore through the best of Get Born, and Chris and Nick played a new song "Elenor" acoustic. It was really fucking good to. Very Beatlesque. This was the 4th time I've seen Jet, and to me it was kinda like "same old same old" Not that I didn't enjoy it. I much liked Jet better in a club setting. They just don't seem to rock as much in an ampitheatre. One great moment was when Nick dove into the crowd still playing and carrying on. I think the thing I didn't like the most was how much treble was in the vocals... the sound was kinda thin. Nick does better solo's than the first couple times I saw them, and they have a great keyboard player now. A good show, but I actually enjoyed Kasabian more.
Now to the main event.
I moved down front 13 rows from the stage to sit by a friend of mine.
We were chatting with the fans around us when the lights went out, the "This is not a Drill" intro started ringing out. And then the Downbeat of fucking in the bushes came in. Everyone down front was pumped for it.
The set ran like this.
Fucking in the bushes
Turn Up the Sun
Lyla
Bring it On Down
Morning Glory
Cigarettes and Alcohol
A Bell Will Ring
Importance of Being Idle
Live Forever "which Liam sent out to the people of New Orleans"
Wonderwall
Mucky Fingers
Champagne Supernova
Rock and Roll Star
*Guess God Thinks I'm Able
*The Meaning of Soul
*Don't Look Back In Anger
*My Generation
"it may be out of order a little bit"
Every song was spot on. There was a little mishap in Mucky Fingers towards the end after Gem played the harmonica part and the band didn't totally come in together. Noel kinda looked around like "what the fuck" but they kept on and it turned out ok. Noel and Gem Nailed the solo's. Liam sounded great. You could tell at times he was out of breath, but Liam's Liam, He didn't even crack in My Generation. Liam and Noel had their usual good spirits with the crowd. At one point before Don't look back In Anger, the crowd wouldn't stop clapping and Noel said, Are you finished... clap along to this." Another funny moment was before Wonderwall Noel and Liam started asking what we wanted to hear. A bunch of the people around us started yelling "Stop the Clocks" as a joke. Nice fans moment. Great Gig, and Noel said See ya next time. Atlanta Loves Oasis!
